5 Reasons Why Vietnam Is Your Next Pre-Wedding Shoot Location

Vietnam is one of my favourite Southeast Asian countries as I love the variety of landscapes they can offer. From the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh city, to the greenery in Sapa and Halong Bay, to the tranquility in Mui Ne (sand dunes!), to the "beachy" city of Da Nang and lastly, to the cold in Da Lat. Vietnam never fails to amaze!
Note: pictures are proudly taken by Wanderlustdream and itinerary was planned by them as well!
First Reason
Vietnam is about 3 hours flight away from Singapore
Many would choose to fly into either Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi. The flights are about 3 hours long.
Considering our busy schedules, many could not afford a week long trip to places like New Zealand, Australia or even Europe for a pre-wedding shoot. Even so, you would not be able to enjoy the country fully as you would be rushing around to get your pictures taken.
Vietnam would be a perfect alternative! Not only do you not spend much time travelling on air, Vietnam is well connected by sleeper buses (if you'd more time there), or you can even consider hiring your own private transport, which would not cost a bomb as well! We were thankful that one of our camera crew, Daniel, is a Vietnamese with great contacts, and he managed to get us a comfortable ride all around Vietnam!
Second Reason
Vietnam is a relatively cheaper destination pre-wedding shoot location
To be honest, I had never thought about going overseas to have my pictures taken. I had the misconception that going overseas to get your pre-wedding shoot pictures taken would cost a bomb as you'd need to (1) pay for your camera crew's food and accommodation, (2) pay for your make-up artist's services, food and accommodation, (3) rent your gowns for several days, (4) pay for all flight tickets, and many many more. However, who said that your overseas photoshoot needed to be a "formal" one with gowns, make up and etc? I went ahead with a casual photoshoot, with my personal dresses and didn't do any make up. Here, I had already saved on point 2 and 3! I loved how the pictures turned out - casual and natural!
Typically, you'd need to pay for your camera crew's flight tickets, food and accommodation. Hence, doesn't Vietnam yell "CHEAPER!!" to you when it comes to the aforementioned items? Depending on when you fly, tickets to Ho Chi Minh city might cost only about S$150 per person? Accommodation and food are really cheap in Vietnam as well! Did I mention that you could let Wanderlustdream know your budget and your travelling style? They would cater to your needs and select the accommodations accordingly!
Third Reason
Vietnam has sand dunes looking like that of a desert
I am a nature seeker and I'd love differing landscapes! Pictures taken did not look like it was taken in Vietnam. In fact, many of my family and friends thought these shots were taken in places like Australia or even Dubai!
Also, what I really loved about this place - Mui Ne - is that they are not flooded with tourists. Getting to Mui Ne would require taking overnight sleeper buses from Ho Chi Minh and hence, not many people would choose to detour here. I would also think that not many people are aware of such a beautiful place?
Fourth Reason
Vietnam is not just all about the hot weather, there are cold cities dropping to 15 Degree Celsius at night.
There are cities like Da Lat, which is relatively colder all year round and cities like Sapa, which tends to be colder only at the end of the year. During this trip, we changed our plans last minute and headed towards Da Lat, which was the best decision ever!
In Da Lat, the Wanderlustdream team brought us to a "secret hilltop" to watch the sunset and take really dreamy pictures. Despite the fact that we had to climb up the hill in our less "comfortable" attires, the cold weather was a great exchange! Not only did the weather make this photoshoot much more comfortable, it also made us enjoyed the entire process without perspiring!
Fifth Reason
Vietnam has dreamy untouched locations.
Another perk of travelling with the Wanderlustdream team was that they could bring us to locations, less known to tourists, and only well known to locals! We went to the Ninh Thuan Province, took a random tractor to a particular secluded lighthouse!
We also climbed up to the top of this rock formation, where we got some pictures from high above, overlooking the sea :")
This entire trip was well planned by our trusty camera crew from Wanderlustdream. Not only were they able to accommodate to our busy schedules, they were also flexible to change plans along the way! They were also the people behind the pictures found on this site! We were glad that we were not told to restrict our movements or do certain poses. Instead, we were told to do whatever we wanted and be as natural as possible. We are thankful that they managed to capture true emotions that were "iconic" of alaughingseal.
