On 2 May 2014, I finally made one of the most important decisions of my life to own a dog. It has always been a dream to own one, and I suddenly felt the urge to own one! Did I think it through? I surely thought I did but there were definitely times when I doubted myself and my decision.

I headed to Pasir Ris Farmway to specifically look for a Pomeranian - I was totally obsessed with Boo the dog and I really wanted to own a pom! Before owning a dog, I read several books written by different dog experts e.g. Cesar Milan and watched several YouTube videos on crate training, behaviour training, feeding, sleeping and etc. After my 'research', I decided on a medium-energy dog! A medium-energy dog is basically a dog that is vigilant (you can see it through his lifted ears) but yet, his body is calm - probably lying down or seated, without jumping around.

I went to all the dog shops in Pasir Ris Farmway and was astonished when I found out that buying a dog is truly expensive! There are many people out there who are strong believers of adopting. However, I'd like to seek your kind understanding to have an open mind and accept that I had decided to purchase a dog for personal reasons :) Thank you!

After going to several places, I was pretty sure that I did not want to buy a dog anymore as none of them 'speaks' to me. I did not want to buy a dog for the sake of getting one! While driving around, we spotted another shop and my partner urged me to take a look since we were already there. Lo and behold, we met a 7-month old pom, who was so calm, and was not bothered that we were there looking at him. In that moment, I truly felt this connection when he just lay in our arms and didn't seem to want to leave! Price point wise, it was reasonable and up till today, I am still talking to the person who sold me the dog!

Baby Burger when he was 7 months old

He just felt like a 'Burger' and from then on, we called him Burger and here are some of his really young pictures! He looked really foxy with that long snout!

Here, he transformed a little 'rounder' and surely a lot fluffier, and darker after going through his shedding phase!
