The Evening Fairytale of the Happiest Day of my Life

Transiting from the morning to the evening has got to be one of the maddest rush I've ever put myself in. I had 3 main activities going on in the evening - setting up my photo display table, my solemnisation and my dinner banquet itself. My trusty bridesmaids were in charge of setting up my photo display table (turned out to be the main photo backdrop!!), while my husband prepares his sword-bearers for a military march in, and for myself, I had to get ready for the next look for the wedding banquet!
In hindsight, I really should have paid for people to set up and dismantle my photo display table as it really took up so much of my girls' time and having to pack and dismantle post banquet was truly tiring. Up till today, I am still extremely thankful for my girls to have stuck around and helped me out with the logistics. Never could have done it without them! Also, through this experience, you truly know who is a natural in organising despite the fatigue! HAHA
It also helped that one of my girlfriends, is also an extremely capable and trustworthy Wedding Coordinator, who helped me from the morning till the night! Without her, I wouldn't be able to enjoy my wedding this much! Honestly, I didn't even find myself fretting over anything as I made an important decision prior to my wedding and that is, "If you have anything to ask, ask Pei. If you need me to make decisions, ask Pei.". I think by entrusting my entire wedding in her hands, it would really free up the mind space you need to fully enjoy the wedding! Of course, the entire burden is on her, and as a friend, I do feel bad that she is anxious and possibly stressed up in perfecting my wedding, but knowing her capabilities, I wasn't worrying at all!

I held my wedding at Temasek Club and that was the best decision I have ever throughout my wedding preparation! We signed their package during their bridal fair and we managed to get many freebies. Why do I love Temasek Club so much?
Their Grand Ballroom could fit up to 60 tables comfortably, we had 40 and it was really spacious! Huge ballroom, without any pillars, and yet 2 huge screens so all your guests could watch the entire banquet unfold properly!
They settle the decorations for us (FOC!), and they do have a huge range of them, which you can choose from.
Free rental for their Portsdown room, which has a beautiful full glass background, for your solemnisation
Free flow beer for the banquet (freebie during bridal fair)
30L barrel that can be used during the cocktail reception (this was the original freebie, which was supposed to be used during the cocktail reception)
1 free house wine per table
They have a huge range of wedding favours that you could choose from, and for us, we chose sustainable goods - a set of wooden spoon and fork, and a metallic straw with cleaner!
Free breakfast at Spize after the wedding - waking up wasn't as easy but thank god we made a date with my girls and that helped us to wake up!
Free villa room!
Solemnisation
The gorgeous set-up was done by Temasek Club and it was really hassle-free! We loved the tiffany chairs and all too!
I overestimated the amount of time I needed to take pictures with everyone and had more than enough time to spend precious times with my guests during the cocktail reception. This was a decision that I had made, which was slightly different from others as I understand I would lose that 'wow' factor entering the ballroom for the first time.
However, I was really thankful that I made this decision to spend my time at the cocktail reception as I could mingle with my guests and I really got to take more intimate pictures with my guests during cocktail reception! Many a times, weddings are merely 'oh hello! see you next time!' and there weren't much interactions due to the sheer amount of people at your wedding!
Evening Banquet
When I first saw the fairy-lights set-up in the ballroom, I felt so emotional as I knew the day was coming to an end, and of course, having to walk down the aisle with my husband, and to celebrate the start of married lie, felt extremely.. surreal!
I chose to take table pictures with half of my guests in my white gown and changed into my evening gown after! For the 2nd march in, we bought silver confetti and we really loved the picture effects of it! Never forget to thank your vendors during your speech! And have some fun after the wedding - rid the heels, the can can and just have some fun!
Now that my wedding is over, it is truly a bittersweet feeling.

The planning and the day's rush was... pretty crazy!! However, watching the entire day unfold felt AMAZING. No words can describe how it feels like to watch the entire planning come alive, and to be able to enjoy the day fully was something I was grateful for!
I think one of the most important things I learnt from my wedding, and an advice for future couples is that: it is too late to make any changes so trust whoever is helping you that they will do their best and should anything fall apart, it will turn out fine in the end!
